Defence and Dual-Use Market expertise

As CEO of Epinova Oy, I help Finnish companies enter and scale in the U.S. market—especially within the U.S. Department of Defense ecosystem—by building the right partnerships, navigating procurement pathways, and turning pilots into lasting business.

I am a co-architect of two major Finnish defence cluster initiatives—Savo Defence and the Borderland Europe living‑lab ecosystem—where I have organized high‑level, multi‑stakeholder engagements and advanced transatlantic collaboration linking Finnish capabilities to U.S. DoD and NATO value chains.
Through Savo Defence, a fast‑growing network of dual‑use and defence companies in Eastern Finland, I support joint showcases, internationalization, and coordinated routes into larger programmes and procurements.
With Borderland Europe, I work alongside Business Joensuu and U.S. partners to build a world‑class test and co‑creation environment that connects Finland’s contested operating conditions to transatlantic research, experimentation, and acquisition pathways.

Officer in Finnish AirForce Reserves

Additionally, I serve in the Finnish Air Force reserve, where I develope,  contribute to and receive reservist training focused on airbase operations, force protection, and command-and-control readiness. In my Host Nation Support (HNS) and Reception, Staging, and Onward Movement (RSOM) reservist officer role, I plan and coordinate the reception of allied forces, logistics flows, staging areas, and onward movement during national and multinational exercises and contingencies. This includes interagency and NATO-partner coordination, synchronizing airlift and ground movements, and delivering training that ensures rapid, safe, and compliant integration of visiting forces into Finland’s operating environment.

Leadership

For more than 20 years at Epinova, I have delivered high-impact pedagogical and leadership solutions across private companies and public-sector institutions, including performance analysis, leadership coaching, and strategic planning. I bring over two decades of experience in higher education and private business from all organizational levels, from from factory floor to C-level offices, from  teaching to creating university strategies for the future, and I served 10 years on the Board of Directors of Savonia University of Applied Sciences.

Coach and Mentor

Across my career, I have taught, coached, and mentored more than 10,000 people and hundreds of companies. I am the author and co-author of several books used today in most Finnish engineering universities of applied sciences. I have also worked around the world as an invited Lecturer of Excellence, planning and directing international cooperative workshops, learning sessions, coaching sessions, and university courses in countries including U.S.A, UK, Australia, Switzerland, China, France, Russia, the Netherlands, and Slovenia.

I am Founding member of Kuopio Steelers American Football team, where I held several positions for more than 20 years e.g a team captain for 15 years, Head coach and also as a  General Manager of The Kuopio Steelers.
